Group Structure

From knowledge contributors (basically all scholars on Earth)

through the circles of WGSN consultants, WGSN voting members, and the WGSN Neutral Committee.

WGSN aims for scientific accuracy and historical correctness to represent as many cultures as possible (and as permitted) in a respectful way. We encourage all knowledgeable scholars to consult us, at least in written form, by adding knowledge to the All Skies Encyclopaedia (ASE)as our repository. 

Scholars with strong knowledge in a relevant field (e.g. a specific culture) who frequently further our work may become “Consulting Members”. They will be granted access to contribute their knowledge to the ASE. 

There are strict editing rules, as we are developing an interdisciplinary dictionary that we want to be useful for researchers and educators alike. Standardised forms and clearly defined, consistently used terminology help outsiders (researchers from all academic cultures, teachers/educators, etc.) to easily & quickly find the information they are looking for.

Exclusion

Anyone who acts contrary to the ASE edit rules after repeated warnings shall have their rights withdrawn.

We appreciate all advice from within and outside the group on the correctness, accuracy and socio-political appropriateness of our work. However, we will remove any WGSN board member who hinders the group’s work on adopting names (generally or in a specific research field or area of action), or whose work does not accord with the rules of good scientific practice (e.g. intentionally, deliberately or even maliciously leaves out works by other scholars or specific source corpora).

Exclusion would require a unanimous decision of the Neutral Committee.
